Yes, I struggle with simplifying my life, but I Thank God in Jesus Christ that I have my child at home with me, I am clean and sober one full year, and I can actually give up working to help my son have an extra advantage because of his disability.
It really does heal to forgive, and happiness and contentment do not come from a large bank balance, but out of love and caring for others. As a recovering addict, this seems quite foreign to me. I am hoping to help other kids out with disabilities as well. My son will go on medication at the end of July. He displays symptoms similar to adhd. He was taken from me this time last year by the CPS. Fortunately it turned out to be the best thing for all of us, I am willing to forgo the retirement fund, vacations, and a big career in order to heal from addiction, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and isolation.
If you think your world is going to end, it won't. What happens to you in life is a lesson or a blessin. I still have to pay rent, buy groceries, and pay utilities, car note, and car insurance. I am way in debt, but I will not give up. I stand to gain more from losing, a little bit of the opposite of most people, but I am not afraid.
